The registration of a team is definite the moment the organisation of the festival received the payment of the registration fee.
The registration of a team needs to be done before 3th Juni 24.00 p.m.
Based on the information the tournament organisation has from the registered teams they will make a seeding of the teams, used for the organisation of the tournament. Teams have the possibility to send information about the strength their team to the tournament organisation before the 20 may 24.00 p.m. if they think it is important for the seeding. However the opinion of the tournament organisation is binding.
At arrival on Ameland, on the Friday, the teammanager or captain has to register at the festival reception before Friday the 16 June 22.30 p.m.. On Friday from 12.00 p.m. off the reception of the festival is open. Teams receive at registration a rugby-ball and the program, and additional information that is necessary for a good organisation of the tournament.
On the competition days the team captain or manager has to report at least half an hour before the first kick off of the team at competition leader of their competition.
At arrival on Ameland the teams name the official representative of their teams. The tournament organisation only speaks to this representative if necessary.
A team only can play in the competition in which they have registered. During the festival it is not possible to change from competition unless approved by the tournament director.
A team and her supporters are at their own risk present at the festival. Accidents, injuries and damage what so ever, caused by playing, being present or during the journey to and from the festival are at own risks and costs. The festival organisation is not liable for any damage.
Instructions of the tournament director and competition leaders needs to be follow up by the teams, they are important for the good and smooth organisation of the tournament
Teams have to report at least one match before the match they will be participating at the competition leader who is at the playing area. The tournament director can, if a team reports late, declare the game lost for the late team with 10 -0 (2 tries)
In the Open Dutch Championships pools the teams must have numbers on their jerseys. The team representative hands in the list of names and numbers before the tournament. Every player keeps his own number during the whole tournament.
In the Open Championships competitions (Men and Women) a team only may have a maximum of 12 players registered unless the tournament director decides otherwise. However before the start of a game the team representative names 10 of the players who will actually participate in the coming game. Those 10 players mentioned are the only players who can play in that match.
The changing of the players has to be done by handing over the special changing sign to the payers that comes off the field of play. This has to be done in the special changing area directly to the field of play. The player that comes off the field of play needs to leave the playing area through the special signs along the touchline in the middle of the field. The player that wants to come on has to wait with giving the changing sign until the player that comes off has crossed the touchline. As in ice hockey the number of changes is not limited and a player that already played can come back on the field.
The duration of the game will be signalled by the tournament organisation centrally by a sound. However the referee of the game decides if there is extra time to be given for injuries etc. within the system mentioned in the laws. After the central signal the referee raises his hand as a signal to the competition leader that he has heart the sound.
The team that wins gets 3 match points. When there is a draw both teams get 2 match points. The team that lost gets 1 match point. If a team does not appear to a game it gets no point at all.
Ranking in the pool-games
- The team with the most match points is the winner of the pool games.
- If there are teams with an equal number of match points the team with the highest number of scored tries in all the pool games is the winner.
- If still a draw is the case the team wins that has the most 5 point tries
- If still not decided the team with the less number of players send off in the pool games becomes the winner
After the pool-games there will be a knock out system as mentioned in the laws
There needs to be a winner in every game
The winner of the finals of the “Open Dutch Championships Beach Rugby” men and women have deserve the tittle, officially recognised by the Nederlandse Rugby Bond, of Champion Open Dutch Beach Rugby competition Men or Women.
Price money will only be transferred to the club that registered the winning team. If it is a special team that for the festival was formed the price-money will be transferred to the account-number that was used to pay the registration-money.
The winners of the Open Dutch Championship Men and Women have won the “Silver Light House Trophy”. It is a “Challenge Trophy” that cannot leave the Island Ameland. The organisation of the festival is responsible to supply the winning team with a team-photo with the trophy for in their clubhouse. They also will make an inscription of the name of the winners in the trophy. The trophies will get a place in the townhall of Ameland.
A player who is sent off by the referee is suspended for the rest of the tournament.
The organisation can also send the referee report to the governing rugby union of the team of the player who was sand off.

In all matters not mentioned in the laws or regulations of the tournament, or if it is important for the good organisation of the competitions the tournament organisation can decide. Their decision is binding
